Koperen tafelgerei geeft een gedekte tafel warmte, zonder dat het zwaar oogt. Met een kan, bekers en mokken van hetzelfde koper zet je een complete set neer.

Koper als middelpunt van de tafel

Een koperen kan in het midden van de tafel werkt als tafelstuk en als schenkkan tegelijk. Je hebt geen bloemen of kaarsen nodig om de tafel af te maken. Bij kaarslicht weerkaatst het koper het licht, vooral de gehamerde uitvoering.

Combineren met je servies

Koper past bij wit porselein, grijs steengoed en ongeglazuurd aardewerk. Op een houten tafel of een linnen tafelkleed komt de kleur het best tot zijn recht. Met veel goud of messing ernaast wordt het snel te druk; houd het bij één warm metaal.

Dekken voor gasten

Zet per gast een beker neer en de kan in het midden. Wie na het eten thee of koffie drinkt, krijgt een mok. Gasten vragen vaak waar het koper vandaan komt, dus reken op een gesprek aan tafel. Een rustige manier van samen eten en drinken staat centraal bij slow living met koper.

Na de maaltijd

Was het tafelgerei met de hand, droog het direct af en zet het niet in de vaatwasser. Resten van eten of saus met azijn of citroen spoel je snel af, want zuur laat vlekken achter. Each of the four comes smooth and hammered, both shown above. You choose the finish when you order; what the difference between smooth and hammered actually does to the surface is in smooth or hammered copper.

If you mostly drink on the move, the water bottle is the obvious first choice. If you share the water with a household, the jug pours for everyone at once. For hot tea or coffee, take the mug with the handle. And to keep the ritual as simple as it gets, the cup is the original form: fill, leave, drink.
