    Copper Tongue Scraper

    €24,95

The tongue scraper belongs to Jihva Prakshalana, the Ayurvedic morning ritual already described in the Charaka Samhita. In the morning you draw it back to front over your tongue a few times, rinse it and put it away. Where the ritual comes from is in the morning ritual.

Our scraper is bent to the classical shape and made by hand in India, from solid copper with no coating. Why copper and not stainless steel, and what that means for cleaning it, is in copper or stainless steel. Delivered with a velvet pouch and a scannable digital guide.

Rinse it after use and let it dry. Copper tarnishes over time; that is patina, and lemon and salt (not too hard: salt is mildly abrasive and dissolves well in the lemon juice) take it off again. What discolouration does and does not mean is in why copper turns green or black.
